About Griechenbeisl

The Griechenbeisl has been serving guests for 550 years, in its own words, under names such as the Gasthaus zum gelben Adler; it took its present name after Greek traders settled nearby. A zither player performs in the room where the balladeer “Der liebe Augustin” is said to have sung, and the walls of the Mark Twain Room carry the signatures of famous guests. The classics: veal Wiener Schnitzel and Tafelspitz.

Why it's on our list
